Leadership Big Canoe graduates 12th class on April 28

The first Leadership Big Canoe board of directors launched this popular and informative program in 2005, graduating its first class of 21 participants in May 2006.

This year’s class—the twelfth to complete the program—had 25 graduates. As part of their exercise in learning about Big Canoe, the participants studied current issues and developed projects to address forest management, effective communications and the integration of generations.

Willson, Dudley DeVore, Bob Ackermann, Jennifer Waldrup and Jim Braley.

After completing the coursework, graduates are expected to give a minimum of two years of service to the community in any area they choose.

The LBC board of directors will invite the community to participate in the next class, beginning fall of 2017 and running through spring 2018. For property owners interested in learning more about LBC and participating in Leadership Big Canoe, the board will host a wine and cheese reception at the Clubhouse on Lake Sconti from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19.
