June 2018 A&E calendar

• PRESERVE THE HEMLOCKS - On Sunday, June 24 you're invited to our annual HEMLOCK CAMP MEETING at beautiful Lake Winfield Scott in Suches, GA. It's billed as a "gathering of kindred spirits to celebrate and preserve the magnificent hemlocks." There will be music, food, lots of other good folks interested in preserving our beautiful mountains and forests, and an excellent keynote speaker - Dr. Ben Smith of NC State - who will bring us a message on the latest research for saving the hemlocks: the quest for adelgid-resistant hemlocks! Admission is only $5 per person, with kids under 10 free. Contact Kim Wood at 706-455-2313 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

• TERRACES CONCERT June 23rd: The Terraces presents The WannaBeatles for its second June concert. While not starting in a Liverpool underground venue, this band instead started in a Mexican restaurant in Nashville where the menu’s theme was “Beatles and Fajitas.” They have also written arrangements for additional Beatles songs. With the Rolling Stones tribute band last year, you’ll be able to perhaps answer our challenge question of which band did you prefer between the two? The concert experience will not only contain great Beatles classics but also hilarious stage antics, audience involvement and to top it off, award winning entertainment.
