‘Price is Right!’ headed to Atlanta

Ever dream of being a game show contestant? Do visions of all-expense-paid trips dance in your head? Brand new appliances something you’d give anything for? Here’s your chance.

The live version of “The Price is Right!,” television’s longest-running game show will begin at 7:30 p.m. March 26, 2019, at the Fox Theatre, in Atlanta. The touring version of the show will include prizes, a celebrity host and many games from the popular televised classic.

Diehard fans and those simply hoping to win big began purchasing tickets in November 2018.

There are a few things to know about becoming a contestant on the “Price is Right Live" in Atlanta.

It doesn’t cost a penny to play, but you do have to buy tickets to be an audience member. Contestants do not have to buy tickets to play; audience members do. Tickets are listed at $50-80 plus fees.

Arrive early for consideration. Producers will begin registering potential contestants early afternoon of the recording and suggest showing up as early as possible to be considered. Registration closes precisely at the scheduled showtime of 7:30 p.m.

Know the registration process. Eligible potential contestant must be 18 years or older, must provide their first and last name and day of birth (0-31) to producers via registration cards. Fox Theatre staff will hand out the cards. Again, it’s not a requirement to purchase a ticket in order to register. Furthermore, having a ticket will not be considered a factor in determining eligible contestants or in the contestant selection process.

You might not make it. Be prepared. Only eight contestants will get the chance for the appliances, cash or a shiny new car.

Individuals who are not selected as contestants and do not have tickets must leave the venue as soon as the casting process ends. Remember that those who purchased tickets are welcome to stay and enjoy the show.

If you want to maximize your chances, you can also begin purchasing tickets to other nearby Price is Right Live shows happening next spring: Hiawassee (7 p.m. March 23, Anderson Music Hall - Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. Tickets available Dec. 13), Macon (7:30 p.m. April 6, Macon Coliseum. Tickets available Nov. 16), and Athens (7 p.m. April 7, Classic Center, Tickets are on sale now).
