On Saturday, December 2, 2017, the Chapel will be the center of activities for Big Canoe. The Property Owners Association (POA) Annual Meeting and the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild Legacy of Caring Christmas Collectors’ Corner will make for a busy day.

Christmas Collectors’ Corner to add Casseroles to Go and “Men’s Toys, Tools and Man Cave Décor” to their traditional holiday offerings

The POA Annual Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. in The Big Canoe Chapel. The agenda includes an announcement of the two newly elected directors and the recognition of outgoing directors Tony Galioto and Carolyn Littell, a 2017 financial report, 2018 budget highlights, and board goals.

See Smoke Signals December digital edition (page 1 of the News section) for coverage of the Nov. 16 POA Board Meeting and Director of Finance Jayne Hagan’s column describing the 2018 Capital and Operating budgets.

 Christmas Collectors’ Corner

Before and after the POA meeting, the Legacy of Caring’s Christmas Collectors’ Corner will be held in the Broyles Center. Gently-used holiday treasures, lovingly assembled by event co-chairs Sandy Sharf, Faye Webster, Jeannie Korn, and their committee, will be on sale with the proceeds donated to support area women and children’s programs. Downstairs is the “Men’s Toys, Tools and Man Cave Décor” area, a treasure trove of sports items, tools and decor selected with the men in mind. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

 Casseroles to Go

Coming off a successful sale in November, Casseroles To Go, chaired by Jean Mosshart, will return with a new stock of casseroles prepared by volunteers to sell at the Christmas Collectors’ Corner. This year’s offerings include Beef Lombardi, Creamy Shrimp Pasta, Divine Chicken Divan, and Oven-Baked Jambalaya. The freezer-ready casseroles with four generous servings cost $18. The popular package of 12 sausage muffins is returning for a second year. Save for later or serve with a salad for an easy lunch after the POA meeting. Best of all, a recipe card is included to recreate the casserole for future meals.
