Big Canoe Resident Jackie Agers stars in Tater Patch Players production–February 13

Big Canoe resident Jackie Agers stars as Dora in the Tater Patch Players newest production, “Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner” by Jan Cook. Her co-stars are Sharon Young from Blue Ridge who plays Lydia and long-time Tater Patch player, Jan Simpson, who plays Maggie. Jackie says “The Tater Patchers are a wonderful family and have been very welcoming.”

The play is a comedy about three widowed sisters who live together in the old family home and never leave the house. After many years together, they constantly interrupt each other when conversing. When Lydia’s daughter attempts to move them into a retirement home, their lifestyle is threatened. According to Jackie ‘The rehearsal night went well. The audience laughed when they were supposed to laugh.”

Jackie is a Texas native who worked as a counselor and taught speech and drama in high school. She moved to Big Canoe in 2017 and auditioned for the play in November. She acted and directed in the Dallas College community theatre before retiring and moving to Atlanta where her son lived. Two years later after one visit, she moved to Big Canoe where she is a member of the Ridgerunners and a book club.

Regular performances are February16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25. The three Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. and the evening performances are at 7:30. The theatre is located at 95 Philadelphia Lane, near Walmart. Tickets may be bought in advance at taterpatchplayers.org, on the Tater Patch Players Facebook page or at the door beginning one hour before curtain on each performance date.
