BCAR FUNDRAISER2

‘California dreaming’ theme of BCAR Wine Fundraiser

The Big Canoe Wine Group (BCWG) will host a fundraiser for the Big Canoe Animal Rescue from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 at The Chimneys. Talk of the Town will cater the event.

All 25 wines for the fundraiser have been selected to support the California theme, with special music selected by Mike Ehrlich sure to set the mood. Bring home the mood with a CD of the music available at the end of the evening compliments from Mike.

The evening starts with a Mumm Napa Cuvee “M” Sparkling wine for acclimation and then progresses to five tables showcasing 24 wines to include the eclectic Bonny Doon wines founded by Randall Grahm in 1983. Other tastings include Central Coast wines Smith & Hook and Ancient Peaks; Lodi wines from Michael and David Phillips; fifth generation grape growers, Stephen Vincent and Klinker Brick.

Sonoma wines from Angeline, St. Francis established in 1971, the first to grow Merlot in the county and Cline Cellars. Other wines include Franciscan Estate, Dry Creek and Blue Quail. The wines are poured by the BCWG, prepared to talk about the region, wines and winemakers. Enjoy the Hors d’oeuvres along the way with exceptional ice cream to close out the evening.

The $60 per person entrance fee also includes a wine glass, wine tasting program with notes, wine raffles and special silent auction offerings: A Kay Davis artist drawing of your favorite pet, a Betsy Hillis portrait of your pet, selected large format magnum wines—and unique this year a dinner for 8 to 10 at your home prepared by the senior chefs at The Clubhouse at Lake Sconti with wines selected from the Big Canoe Wine Group cellars to pair with the meal. This exceptional evening includes pouring by Big Canoe’s clubhouse manager Jas Ilazovic, easily a $2,400 value offering.

With just 10 days to go, we encourage all the animal lovers and wine enthusiasts to make reservations this week and invite friends and family. Contact Keith Williams at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call Keith at 770-355-7274.
