Postcards from Big Canoe on a glorious July 4

Photos by Jim Francis

With activities from morning until night, July 4 was a spectacular experience in Big Canoe. Starting off with the patriotic doggie and bike decorating contests, Big Canoe was filled with families, friends and guests celebrating Independence Day in their red, white and blue glory. According to records from Big Canoe’s Main and North gates, more than 2,000 guest passes were provided to cars bringing family, friends and guests into Big Canoe for the fun-filled long weekend.

From hiking and tennis to swimming, golf and fishing there were activities all day for everyone. After an active day, fireworks filled the sky with pops and color.

Smoke Signals photographer Jim Francis shares his reflections of the day with these photo post cards from Big Canoe.
