Don’t decorate with real pumpkins this fall
It’s tempting to buy fresh pumpkins to decorate for fall and especially for Halloween but—unless you want bears trick or treating at your house--please settle for artificial instead.
Bears love pumpkins and if they see your porch or front steps decorated with delectable pumpkins their first thought will be hors d’oeuvres.
And why not? Pumpkins are a huge, juicy, aromatic, fresh fruit goodie. A veritable Thanksgiving feast for our furry omnivore neighbors. Just like you keep going back to Grandma’s for her traditional pumpkin pie, your Big Canoe bears will be likely to return to your porch or your yard because you have fed them such treats.
There’s a better way to add that same pretty look to your home without worrying about guess-who’s-coming-back-to-dinner. Try artificial pumpkins. They’re bright orange, realistic looking, available in all kinds of styles and materials—and they don’t rot out in the sun.
