Lawrence announces run for Jasper mayor

Steve Lawrence has announced his candidacy for mayor of Jasper.

In making his announcement, Lawrence believes Atlanta is “bulldozing its way through North Georgia…and will go right through us” in the near future. He wants to preserve the small-town way of life in Jasper. To do this, Lawrence believes with proper planning and closely working with the county government, Chamber of Commerce and Jasper Merchants Association, a unified voice to state government can speak to the future of the city with proper planning.

“Our way of life is worth working for,” Lawrence said. “We can’t stop the future but working together with proper planning, we can determine how it will look. I ask for your support and your vote.”
